Questions people ask before they sign up
Straight answers. If yours is not here, email info@site-lynx.co.uk and a person replies. No sales call, we promise.
Price and trial
How much does Work-Lynx cost?
£2.50 a month for the business plus £1 a month for each employee. Ten staff is £12.50 a month. Fifty is £52.50. No tiers, no per-module bolt-ons, no setup fee. What you see on the pricing page is the bill.
Is there a free trial?
Fourteen days with everything switched on, no card needed to start. If you add a card during the trial to carry on, you are not charged until the fourteen days are up.
Do I have to sit through a demo or a sales call?
No. There are none, which is part of why it costs a fraction of BrightHR or Breathe. Sign up, put your people in, see for yourself.
Why is it so cheap compared with the others?
Their price has to cover a sales team, an account manager and a support desk. Ours does not. We pointed AI at HR admin and passed the saving on. That is the whole trick. Comparative prices on this site are the competitors' own published rates.
Is there a contract?
No. Pay monthly, cancel any time from the billing page, and access runs to the end of the month you have paid for. No notice period and no exit fee.
What you get
What is included?
All of it, on every plan: GPS clock-in with a live map, rotas with shift swaps and AI Suggest, timesheets that fill themselves, UK statutory leave, sickness and TOIL, payslips and expenses, a training matrix with expiry alerts, onboarding, reviews, announcements, an org chart, 49 preloaded UK policies and Employ AI.
What are the preloaded policies?
49 UK HR policies written for UK law: health and safety, GDPR, disciplinary and grievance, sickness absence, annual leave, whistleblowing, flexible working, lone working, PPE, COSHH and the rest. Put your name on them, publish, and staff acknowledge on their phones. Each one has its own page under UK HR policies.
Is Employ AI legal advice?
No. It is a UK employment-law assistant that knows the ACAS codes, statutory sick pay, holiday entitlement, TUPE, notice periods and the usual position on most questions, and it drafts letters, contracts and policies for you to check. For anything that could end at a tribunal, take proper advice. Guidance, not legal advice.
How does GPS clock-in stop people clocking each other in?
Everyone clocks in on their own phone inside a geofence you draw around the site or the premises, and the time and location are recorded. There is no terminal for a mate to tap. No signal on site? The clock-in is captured on the phone and syncs when it reconnects.
How do the hours get into payroll?
Timesheets build themselves from clock-ins against the rota, with breaks and overtime applied from rules you set once. Approve the week and export it as a file your payroll run accepts.
Staff, phones and leaving
Do my staff need to download anything?
They get their own mobile view for clock-in, rota, leave requests, payslips and policy acknowledgements. It runs in the phone browser and can be installed as an app from there. Nobody needs a company phone.
Is it only for construction?
No. It started with construction firms because that is where we come from, so it handles site addresses, CSCS and right-to-work well, but the customers are care homes, coffee shops, gyms, charities and contractors. Anyone in the UK with hourly or shift staff.
Is my data safe, and what happens if I leave?
Your data is yours. Export your people, timesheets and leave as spreadsheets at any time, and if you cancel, take what you need before the month ends. We do not hold it hostage.
Who built it?
Site Lynx Group Ltd, in the UK. Built by a commercial manager running a real payroll of tradespeople who was tired of paying per seat for software that still needed a spreadsheet. Email info@site-lynx.co.uk and a person answers.
